In 2007, the band decided to put some of their songs to disk and went to Technicolor Sound in Glendale, CA to begin the work. Former Bassist Dick Morrison took the helm. Who better? He has been nominated and won multiple awards, including 4 Emmys for Post Production on several well-known television shows. All songs were performed and recorded live in the studio! Then we moved to Dick’s home studio where he took on the task of recording the additional tracks and mixing using ProTools HD with 48k/24bit technology.
SpareTime recruited the talents of Mark Schnose to add some additional percussion and Robbie McCarthy for vibes, then moved to The Mastering Lab in Hollywood and the skills of Robert Hadley was used to perform the final mastering touch before going to manufacture.
The CD cover became a work of art in itself. While Keyboardist Scott and Dick’s Wife Dee worked on all the CD’s artwork, Guitarist Heli painted an original depiction of our hands and our associated instruments for the artwork on the disk itself.
SpareTime’s debut CD “in paradise” was the finished result and truly worth owning. From the cover artwork to the recordings themselves, this CD will take you to a little place “in paradise” with the rich sounds and peaceful images. Relax and let SpareTime take you there!
