Heli Sterner

Guitars/Vocals

Heli Sterner has been playing guitar ever since she accidentally chopped off her long fingernails with a paper cutter in her high school art class. She then decided that, “playing music was a much better use of ones fingers.”

She began calling herself a professional around the mid-seventies, when playing guitar and singing actually paid her rent.

In the eighties, she met and married her husband, Scott, and began a gig at Magic Mountain, playing in a variety of “Fifties”, “Sixties” and “Motown” bands, for several years. Heli was hired as a member of the “House Band” for a late-night comedy show called “Comedy Break”, which aired in the mid-eighties on Viacom Network.

Then, in 1990, she gave her music to the Lord, both in leading worship and music ministry. In 1991, she was signed with Word Records and recorded two CD’s with the Contemporary Christian group, “Rachel Rachel”.

After way too many “All Girl bands”, Heli says, “I’m finally able to play with the “Big Boys!” aka – SpareTime.
